WOW! never realized there was one that close! I live about 20 minutes from the range. I am planning to join The Keystone Sportsman Association this month. They will win my membership money for now because of the variety of shooting available. You should read this article. The description of the rifles they are using is interesting. I'll have to investigate the possibility of building a rifle for that range. If I did that I'd want to replicate my M40 from the Corps. Might not win anything with it, but then again I wouldn't want to carry a 100 lb rifle in the boonies either. (I'm not kidding! One of the guys in that article uses a 100 lb rifle with a 34 inch barrel that's 2 1/1" in diameter.)

Did you see this one ? www.pa1000yard.com/images/pdisp.php?pic=423&qual=DCheck under the pic... The 10 shot group = 2.6" 9 shot group = 1.7" (the 9 within the ring) Now that is @ 1000 yds. !!

According to the stats. some of the "lites" shoot about the same as the "heavies" anyway. Like you said, I wouldn't want to stalk a target with a 100# piece either. ;D

You know the 100# gun has a possibility for a new hunting sport.... some rednecks with a turret in the bed of a truck hunting or terrorists, democrats, or any politician... we could make a mint if we can market the guide company. After all politicians aren't an endangered species.

That's amazing!
There's a group of those guys that setup near my place where they can shoot woodchucks at those distances. They set there all day waiting and looking through huge binoculars waiting for the woodchucks to appear. LOL

LOL ~Martin Yep, a shooting/hunting/reloading friend used to go out (up) there every year and meet up with others to shoot groundhogs. The rancher/farmers loved to see them coming. ;D He even had a few places that would furnish places to stay while they were there, just to get the groundhog population reduced. Some with meals even !

Neighbor had to butcher a steer a year early that stepped in a 'chuck hole and got a broken leg. I use the .22WMR, there's no hayfields aroung that are 1000 yards up he-ah. Not that it matters. I cant see that far anyway. 'specially when the hay is up. They lay on the stonewalls and sun themselves. Thats when they get my attention. Whistle as loud as ya can, the dummies stand up and look at ya, like "You talking to me?" Ka- peeeew! One less chuck. And LMAO @ Andy's redneck/ turret/ polititian sport. Where do I sign up for that? I'll supply the camo paint and gadsten flags. BYOB and kevlar, tho.
