Heres a thought.... We ask someone to redo this thread. The gunpowder and lead thread... By Fred. Very catchy, but never percotious. Dang, never could spell percotious.. Perquotious... Per....

Very cool! Dont think our gubmint wants me to have one. I would very much like to modify one of mine, but I have bad luck. Imagine a supressor on that baby with a bolt buffer! Oooooooweeeee, sexy! Lol add some plate steel sillywhettys.... Dingdingdingdingdingding. I could handle that.

Could not load movie. I'll try it when this pos phony finds the wifi signal again. I guess you can get a permit from batfe for a supressor, but I'm good with that. I ever feel the need, thy will be done with nobodys permission asked for. Be fun when i get a dink rooster telling the world how bad he is at 3 in the morning. THWAK. All done. Happy neighbors.

Way back when (around 1973) there was a guy at the county fair who did a quick draw show with .22's. He had a steel bullet trap set up against his trailer. He was pretty good, but the best part was the "punched tin drawings" he would sell. Using a tube fed .22 rifle he would rapid fire shoot a picture into a cookie sheet. I watched him do Sitting Bull, an eagle, a trout, a buffalo, and others. I was absolutely awe-struck. Of course I didn't have the $20 to buy one and no way was Dad coughing up that much money.
Loved the vids above guys. Only problem with youtube is that you can start off on that darn thing at 8am, one thing leads to another, and 'fore you know it it's time for supper!!
I absolutely love my Dad's old Mossberg Model 42B .22 bolt action, but I am going to have to give some thought to buying a 10/22. Looks like I'm missing a whole bunch of fun!

Mike, I own two 10/ 22's. Factory triggers are horrible, other than, a fine little weapon. And yes, utube is funny that way. If you want a chuckle, check out Jeff Dunham and Achmed the dead terrorist.

I KEEL YOU ! ;D Mike, you just sent my memory waaay back. When I was just a boy, (many years ago) I worked at a mom n pop hardware store that sold guns and ammo, (they all did) and Remmington Arms had a guy, a fairly old gentleman, can't remember his name, but that is exactly what he did ! He came in the store one day and set up his exibition show with us and he hired me to be his gopher. Tickeled me to death. I took big flat washers and put masking tape over the holes. Went and bought a bag of Irish taters, an don't remember what else for him to shoot. I'd throw up a tater, 2, 3, 4, and he would pop em with a hollow point and blow taters all over the place. PPL would go crazy watching him. He told them he was going to shoot through the hole in some flat washers, and of course the crowd said suuuure you did, so then I pulled out the ones with tape over the hole, and he never missed a one out of a whole pocket full. Did the indian thing just like you said too. I'm wondering if it was the same man now. Remmington paid him to go all over the country doing that. And yeah, that little 10/22 is a honey. I still have my granpa's old tube fed one though, it is still a tack driver with a 3-9 glass on it. the 10/22 is affordable and there are a bazilloin add on's for them ! And they are reliable, no doubt. well, lunchtime. BBL (be back later)

I just mounted a scope on my Marlin 795. I picked up my son's 10/22 to mount a similar scope on his and found no picatiny rail.... I'll have to pick one up tomorrow... We're going to an appleseed event in a week so I need to get it mounted and sighted in.
I love .22's their fun to shoot.
oh and as Ahchmed would say, "I keel YOU!"

I'd love to go to an appleseed.... Heard some, but didnt know much until I read Massad's column at bhm. (Buy it cheap and stack 'em deep!) Got me interested in the history esp. Think I'll grab my daughter next spring and find one to go for the whole weekend. Make my brother do MY chores for a change!

Rick, we're looking forward to it. My boy is shooting a 10/22 he got for Christmas 2 years ago, I just put a sling and a scope on it, I'm shooting a Marlin 795 that I just put a scope and sling on. My wife will be shooting a 10/22 we are borrowing from my dad, and my daughter will be shooting a Remington nylon 66 that I learned to shoot with.

You all should really have a good time there Andy. Good family outing. Here is the site in case anyone else is interested. Excellent instruction for the youngsters, and adults as well. appleseedinfo.org/ And wouldn't you just guess that even this event, the most basic of AMERICAN history events, has not escaped the ever watchful scrutiny of "big brother", but at this time remains on their "ok list" of events. video.foxnews.com/v/4314305/mixing-history-with-guns/

I just can't win, lol. This laptop doesnt have adobe flash player, or anything. GF doesnt want it on her pooter. Guess if I want her to stay happy with me, I can't watch gunpowder porno. Fun as them vids. are, keeping her happy when we get horizontal is my main priority. When she's happy, I'm VERY HAPPY. lol
Oh, Rick and fellow gun peeps, I have a question if you would: My single six has a 10+" barrel. I was thinking of painting the front sight white or maybe orange so it pops out at me. Maybe the back sight an outline of a contrasting color. Thought I'd try nail polish and thought it would work. What say you?
