I discovered a new tool this month in figuring out what to do with wagon loads of apples. I got a stainless steel steam juicer. I got the cheapest one and still it's working great.
It has three parts plus a lid. The bottom holds water. the middle collects the juice and has a hose coming out of it. The top is a sieve where you put the fruit. Toss fruit in top, boil the water and out comes pure juice! You don't have to pit or peel, although if you do you can then use the pulp for stuff like apple butter.
Best part is I steam can my jars so they are hot (you could also put them in the oven) and when you fill them from the hose with the hot juice there is no need to process - just put on the heated lid and a ring and it seals.
I have done lots of apple juice this year and also a batch of grapes a friend gave me. It's a great way to deal with grapes that have seeds in them.
Thought I would share my discovery.
