OK-we're cranking on this thing now-This is temporary until we know what we're doing with the barn project. Eventually the mini barn, as you know will be the huge chicken house-but for now we are doing this- This is the area the chickens are going. And Cammie is having a sad moment This is what we are cutting down (the tower) and making into a chicken coop-Yeah OK-he REALLY doesn't use the thing anymore- He'll get over it- I think it's a great idea-James is going to box it in and shingle it-and make a nest box that comes out the side with a hinged top so we can get the eggs-

I think that is an awesome idea as well, and as soon as Cam gets to have "his own" chickens to take care of, the play center will be forgotten.

;D It's already forgotten-Dad has promised a tree house for a replacement.
The tower is apart now-we just are trying to figure out how to move it-IT'S HEAVY!

Well, we cut the bottom off to length-leaving 2 ft. piles. That took some weight off of it-so we, with the help of Jimmy's dad rolled it into place. That was much better.
Cam's into the plan now-he wants to paint it red-so we are going to put barn board on the outside and trim it with white.

Ok-here it is in place-sans slide, top etc....we're going to take the vertical boards off of the side to make a nest box that hangs out-put a shed type roof on the top, ramp up the front with a door....He's going to go the the lumberyard tomorrow to see what he can find.-Oh and that's cam's feet you can see at the bottom-he was hiding....

Thanks Rick and Wayne!
All we've had to get was the barn board. Everything else we are using what we have-scraps from leftover projects etc.
He's going to make the doors for the front so they open like a kitchen cabinets, plus have a chicken door as part of the left hand door-where the ramp will go. Then the nest boxes will gout of the right hand side.

It will be nice, but....the slide? C'mon, chickens need a slide. My chickens would have slide envy.
