Oops. Rick, I've never been lucky enough to shoot with a guy with that much long range talent. I've read about Carlos Hathcock, and I'm still in awe at his talent. My .220 had some 16 powered glass. Im a big man, and the smallest of movements on my end of the barrel made for large groups waaaayyy out there. To get proficient with any weapon, i needed practice. Hopefully the mosin will shoot good. The ammo is cheap enough, for sure. Just a swab or two of ammonia to clean up the corrosive nasties before the bore solvent seems to work good. Also, i hate the thought of breaking open a 440 round can of ammo. Looking now in stores for hornady ballistic tipped rounds. Those look to be the best as far as factory loads can be. Too many choices confuse my feeble mind. My buddies dads gunshop has a 700, mcmillan synthetic, semi- bull barrel, Timney trigger, and ziess glass, in .308. I made the mistake of fondling it. Now were madly in love but i just cant afford a high class honey like her. Just the thought of clamping it into my cleaning vise makes my palms sweaty. Must be love! < stands up > Hi, my name is Rick, and I'm a weaponfreakgeek. Oh yea, I can relate to all that. Carlos was indeed awesome. You ever read about the one where he cought the glint off an enemy sniper glass and put his round right through his scope ! And that was confirmed too ! Yes, it does require training, but desire is 90%. Detail, for example, your own heartbeat is critical, and you must learn to recognize it and syncronize with it. Nothing impossible. Actually, the guys today, now that the 50 BMG round is being used, IE,50 Barrett, ole Carlos has been left behind. Not really though, he was under an entirely different set of circumstances. He actually started the 50 cal thing, he modified and scoped an actual machine gun and used it some. That 700 McMil. should be a hoot. Yea, bull barrel is a necessity. That's one of the few problems with the Mosin, it has the barrel fully encased in wood and that's a no-no. I've not seen one yet with it removed but sooner or later I'll see one mebe. (mebe mine )

Before i check out your link, while my mind is on it... That link i posted that didnt work? Try it without my booboos. That mosin blows my mind. If it wasnt for the magazine, i'd never have known it was one.
And yes, carlos shot the guy down the scope tube, i read that in that book. He also had a white feather in his hat at one point. Springfield makes an m14 white feather in his honor. I held one and it was saaawwweeeet! Kinda neat they'd do that. Now off to see the linkus doohinkus you posted. My phone is not playing well with my wifi again. We'll see how it goes...

;D YA ! Kinna like ya wanna see my fast draw ? Wanna see it again !!! ;D ;D ;D Until they did the slooo motion, I thot it was a hoax ! When I was in high school (yes, they had em back then) a friend got into the fast draw thingie with a 22LR wheel gun. He was showin us one afternoon how fast he was, drew that thing an fired real quick, an squealed like a pig !! He shot before he cleared leather and ran a 22LR right down the outside of his leg, ALL the way down !! That ended his fast draw career. Ya, we do need a gun thread. There are a bazillion good vids. Anybody wanna participate ? Usta shoot a lots, but thot I was done one time an sold em all. (sigh) but one, well, mebe 3.

Rick here is a good site for learning to make tamales. I save all my corn husks when I can my corn, they work great if you cut the bottom end of the corn straight across then pull them off without tearing them. I just let them dry out then store in a bag. To can them qts. 75 min pints 60 min at 10 lbs pressure for my area. You can make them as hot or mild as you want. They reall aren't hard to make, just take a lot of tiime, that is why I do a big batch and can them. I think this web site probably shows how to make burritos also. When I said I bought buffalo thighs, I only bought a small piece of it, and chunked 'er up. Funny thing ....wings cost way more per pound for.......bones and skin. Boneless, skinless thighs were cheapah than wings when I went shopping so I said yessuh. Betcha beefalo thighs are good, too. Prolly as good as armahdiller
