Prayers are sent Martin. That is so sad, but the fact that she has youth is a big PLUS!
Well it looks like we may be about finished with tomatoes, all this rain has caused us to get hit with blight. I am going to harvest whats ripe and the rest is going to be cleaned out.

Well, the new hens are already laying, I figure about 2-3 weeks ahead of schedule. They are already out producing the old girls, judging by the numbers and size of the eggs. Have to call Eli and find a date to send the old girls to the freezer.
Oooh man, I can smell the chicken and gravy over biscuits already!!
Off topic - Watched the movie Jesus Christ Superstar last night. Really neat. Kind of wish I had seen the Broadway show, but there was no way my father would have gone seeing that "blasphemous" play. Honestly, I saw it as nothing more than a rock music interpretation of what I've read in the Bible. Who knows, the message may have actually reached persons who ordinarily wouldn't have heard it otherwise.

Martin, I will be praying for your cousin and her family. My neighbor gave me a sack full of hard red pears, think I will make pear preserves.

Aw Martin-she's 15? ?? Prayers sent with a big hug!!!!!! Sorry to hear about your blight Wayne-bummer isn't it? Did you get water in your basement? Mike, my girls are not laying yet-although it should be any time now-they are just about six months old. They are getting quite plump What a crazy week at work-remind me again why I went back? ? Small town politics can be just as bad if not worse than national-what a bunch of morons! I am on a canning frenzy-I can't even begin to list the stuff. I did a bunch of fancy type pears today and tomorrow I am taking the plunge and canning bacon-yeah yeah not USDA approved-but meat is meat. 90 min 10 lbs pressure-done.

Our new sump pump did an awesome job, the basement floor is wet, but no standing water at all. Lynn's parents on the other hand did not fare so well, and her grandmother worse. Her parents had over 7 feet of water in it, everything down there is a total loss, lots of stuff ruined including a freezer full of food. Her grandmothers house had water up to the second floor, it is totaled. Lynn is headed over tomorrow to bring them water and cleaning supplies. They won't have water till sometime next week.

Great News Martin!! Young folks are so resilient, good for her.
The part that sucks is her grandmothers place has been flooded so many times, even two years ago everything on the first floor was covered, her parents only had streams in their basement during Agnes in '72, they thought they would never see anything worse than that. I will have to go over later in the week as soon as they can procure a dumpster. We had been pleading with them to have a yard sale for years, their basement was packed, and I mean packed with stuff, both of her parent and Lynn herself are pack rats. I am more of a minimalist. I will get some enjoyment from getting rid of all that stuff and I hope they consider getting out of there.

Well that is one way to get rid of unused stuff. Martin I am so thankful your cousin is doing well, another example of how God answers prayer.

That's wonderful Martin!!!
Last night we got somewhere between a half an inch and one inch of rain. So three nights this week we got some amount of rain, which is sorely needed. Today I'm working on an Etsy story for my pens and cutting boards, I'm hoping to have it up, with pictures and descriptions and then linked to Facebook by tonight.

We really should put an ad up for online sales of your pens and cutting boards in the paper.
