Cool, thanks for the book info. Trudy/ Andyman. I get parm. cheese sized spices at my local shop n' save store. From $2.99 to 4.99. Nutmeg spice co. out of Conn. packages the stuff. Only thing we can't tell, of course, is what was sprayed on them, and what they were grown in. Most of the everyday stuff I use, I grow. Much betterator. Guess I better start getting more herb seeds and some books. I'll add THAT to an ever growing list. Ahhhhh!!!

Hey Trudy- OK I was having a blonde moment-For some reason I thought Ashley was still a teen, lol Mia Culpa! When you said something about the chiropractor I thought that they might think that her headaches came from an injury or something..... Thanks for the info on the herb book-I have one that I like too-It's from Plymouth Plantation-It has photos of the herbs to use in the tinctures, tea, etc. I'm a visual learner and appreciate pictures, lol.

Did you know that you can put herbs in capsules? I have one of the Cap-M-Quick fillers, they're handy. www.cap-m-quick.com/~Martin

I was going to add earlier that if you want real no BS advice, get the old books, the newer the book the more you will have authors with holding information due to CYA. Even mushroom nooks are changing fast as people worry about getting sued. The older books just plain gave you the info and it was up to you from there, and that is how it should be.

Julie, It would be nice if she were still a teen. Time flies and they grow up so fast. Although Ash still lives at home and plans to stay here after she gets a job so she can save money. There is 10 years between Jake and Ashley, but there is only a 1/2 inch. Having kids 10 years apart wasn't our plan....it was God's idea. But it was a good plan.....we didn't have insurance till 1 1/2 years before Jake was born. He has cost our insurance lots of money. LOL. My books have pictures of the herbs too....at least two of them do. I too am a visual learner. I need to take the one about herbs in our area out and see what I can find. I really need Andy with me though....you know the two heads are better then one! BTW, we have gotten med's from the feed store for our dog when he got in a fight with a neighbor dog. And we have gotten eye med's for the cat. When Andy told co-workers that you can use the med's he got for the dog on people (and that he would use them if they were needed) they weren't to thrilled. Oh, if you all don't have Vetericyn (get it at the feed store) I highly recommend it. My Mom told me about it when the dog got into the dog fight (it is a Wound and Infection treatment). My mom has also used it when she has cuts (on herself) and I have used it when I had bad sunburns. It is a gel that sprays.

I have arthritis and it is about 10x worse now. I use ginger and I also use DMSO a linement/salve for animals. It works better than anything for humans. Have been using it for years!!

Laurie, you might want to start doing a tablespoon of honey mixed with a teaspoon on cinnamon every day...

My SIL just told me about that today, she has RA and says it is helping her. There is a local honey place just down the road, will see if my daughter can run me over there tomorrow to get a bucket, she uses local honey for her allergies, helps build up an immunity to all the nasties she is allergic to. I just love it when I don't have to go to the Dr. for ANYTHING!!! I think honey is a must have for any prepper, and it will keep forever.

Yep, I know that from experience, the Lyme left me with some chronic problems that I just manage and move on, with the local honey and local raw milk, my allergies are a thing of the past, last two years have been symptom free, the 8 years before that, pure misery during the best time of the year, not any more.
