I posted the text below to my blog...
Our LaMancha is in milk, and is on a once a day schedule. The previous owner milked all her goats in the morning, so we are maintaining that schedule. So far we're getting at least a quart a day and yesterday we got more. Also I'm getting better at milking. I milked goats a time or two as a kid, so I understand the process and how to do it, it's now just a matter of doing it regularly to get good at it.
The only thing I think I'd change in our whole goat experience thus far is to get an experienced goat that had kidded before and understood the process of standing still during milking. Our goat is not full milking table trained, and she's a kicker. Right now either one of the kids or my wife is holds the goats hind legs, I'm hoping that as time goes by the goat will calm down and get more used to standing still during the milking process. Getting faster as I and others get used to milking will also help.
By the way the milk from our goat is YUMMMMYYYYY!!!

Oh Andy, so jealous! I BET that milk is yummy! Are you going to make cheese? I'm sure she'll calm down once she gets used to you guys and the new digs.

Eventually we're going to make both cheese and soap.

I so miss being around dairy cattle or goats...I love cows and goats....long tradition of dairying in my family...and it's all gone now! ~Martin

Every day I see improvement, this morning the goat gave almost 2 quarts of milk in less time than it took to milk her yesterday. I see the milk stream is stronger too. She was a bit less 'kicky' this morning, hopefully that trend will continue.
Martin, it's funny, ranching has been in my family for generations, caring for livestock, it definitely gets in the blood.

Your blog gets emailed to me now. Very cool stuff. I'm going Boer buck shopping on Friday. Can't wait. Then I'll go Alpine doe shopping this fall. Gotta do the spring kidding thing. I do not want kids born in a snowbank.Been there with bro's sheep, not fun.
