Wow, gatorade can do all that, I had no idea. Think I'll get me some. too. That 'sam and ella' is scarey. Yessir it is. Until it hit home I gave it little thought, but the old family Dr. said the stomach and intestines look similar to raw hamburger meat and your system, naturally rejects ANYTHING that is put in it, including the medicine that would help heal it. Which was the case here. As I mentioned, Gatorade had just been released for production and while Dr. was despondant as to what to do, I asked about the Gatorade. He said definately give it a try, for he can die if we can't figure a way to keep the medicine down. I tried a spoonfull at a time and 'lo and behold, it stayed down, and eventually the medicine followed by small quanties of the G'ade, it worked and for nearly 2 weeks was the ONLY thing his system didn't violently reject and immediately send back up. The Dr. was elated. Had encountered the same problem before and said he would now perscribe it with the med. from now on. So, definately, that stuff has some wonderful qualities. Since then, I have encountered 24 hr. tummy viruses and that stuff again, is all that doesn't erupt right back up. In my book, it IS medicine.

I'll read some labels next time I go shoppin', and hope that the powdered stuff is as good for what ails ya, seein' as its way cheaper and will last a long time in storage. I also need to see what the sweetener is, hopefully not HFCS, I'm boycotting that crap. Which narrows down my store bought food choices considerable. Good.

I went to the Wonderful World of Wally and got three cases of canning jars-one of each size-and 8 months worth of brita filters for my water pitcher. Got twelve cans of baked beans with corn and peppers already in it-like Mexican style. 8 cans of evap. milk, and twelve more snack packs of tuna salad already made with the crackers for bug out food. They were on clearance for a dollar.I also bought three more Mountain House pouches. I am trying to fill up a plastic tote that I bought just for them. Besides being a good grab and go I thought they would be good barter. The last thing was the value pack of vac saver bags. 5 Rolls in a box of two different sizes.

I bought them bags last fall. I wash them and use 'em till they get too tiny to use. I bought a huge can of Rico's nacho cheese and froze 8 small bags for nacho nights. Canned beef, salsa, and away ya go. Yummy. Been buying 5# of elbows in bags when able. Gonna have 3 buckets full.... and thats just the elbows. Need freezer space, so we will thaw out a bunch of ham steaks, cut off all the fat, and can chunks in pints and jelly jars. I'll gain almost 1 shelf in the upright freezer for veggies, etc.

Wow-I am finally getting some stuff on my list-Hooray!!!!
Bought an Excalibur dehydrator=should be here next week. That was a biggie!!!!!!!!!!! I am so stoked! I also bought a little buddy propane indoor heater-Our room over the garage is the only room that the woodstove doesn't heat-so in an emergency I can put it on the tile floor in the bathroom and heat both rooms. It runs on the little propane coleman tanks or with an adapter, you can hook it up to a bigger tank. For now I just have the little tanks but this has been a long time thing on my to do list. A new company is out there like "The water Bob"-found it on Amazon-there are three in a package for the same price as one water Bob- Bought two solar light bulbs-the new LED ones brighter than a 60 watt bulb-I will hang these in the kitchen if the lights go out. A new cast iron griddle-one of the long ones that can either go on top of the gas stove or on the grill.

Sorry-I just haven't had much to say lately. Funds have been low...Whew! Now it's time to start restocking the basement-that has been getting low too.
